MachineMetrics New Feature - Machine Downtime Categorization

MachineMetrics is focused on tracking production performance by collecting and visualizing data from machines so that operators and managers can make fast and informative decisions backed by real and accurate date that machines automatically produce. We don't like manual input, so all data is collected automatically from the machines - no operator input required. The goal is to discover production problems as fast as possible. MachineMetrics does this very well by inputing jobs and schedules to understand expected and actual cycle times, part counts, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Our beautiful live dashboards, reporting, and notifications make this data actionable and improve productivity by 10 to 20%. We will continue to innovate and expand on these features over time.

Today, we added the ability to manually categorize downtime events. Now, unplanned downtimes can be displayed in a Pareto chart to help identify historical problems, and zero in on the lowest hanging fruit for continuous improvement efforts.

To take advantage of this capability, unplanned downtime should be frequently categorized by operators or supervisors. This is easily down in the timeline view by selecting, choosing a reason, and saving. Play the video below to demonstrate how to categorize downtime.
